JESSE LINGARD has vowed to continue with his crazy celebrations – even if it gets him stick.

Jesse Lingard’s celebration was a tribute to Drake’s new song Portland

Lingard has previously been known to dab after scoring, a trend he started last January when he netted at Newcastle.

The young England star’s celebrations have seen him get abuse on social media.

But Lingard, 24, said: “Football makes you happy and you’ve got to enjoy it.

“Obviously I enjoyed the moment and when you score it is a big thing, so you’ve got to take it in your stride.

“I don’t really look into social media too much and what people write.

“You’ve got to perform for your club and if you make the manager happy, then that’s the most important thing.”

Explaining his Riverside jig, Lingard added: “I promised my friend I’d do something involving a flute.

“It is just this song that came out by Drake.”

Lingard also reckons his stunning second-half strike at Boro is proof he can mix it with United’s big-hitters.

Lingard has today joined up with England’s squad for the games with Germany and Lithuania, despite picking up an ankle knock after a tackle with Adam Clayton yesterday.
